ARMY, CORPS, DIVISONAL & BRIGADE HISTORIES ( Great War )
Divisional and brigade histories are listed in numerical order of division and coverage is primarily of the Great War.

For the period of the Great War, only a small number of histories have been published concerning Brigades and only one concerning an Army, the 5th Army and one concerning a Corps, The Indian Corps. Divisional histories have not been published for all divisions. Eighty six British Divisions served at home and abroad during the Great War and we believe histories have been published concerning forty one of these for all or part of the war, and in some cases, more than one published divisional history exists. There are also histories of the 5th Australian Division and New Zealand Division, and several ‘divisional’ histories have been published recounting deeds as witnessed by individuals. The Military Archive’s Library contains most of the published divisional and brigade histories and will complete this section of its holdings in 2012 (only 4 volumes are outstanding). We also include many memoirs and accounts of service with divisions and brigades in this section.
